Steyer is a specialist paint and coatings supplier built on decades of practical experience — focused on one thing: delivering a reliable, professional finish when the job can’t afford poor paint.
We supply premium coatings in aerosols and tins to customers who don’t paint every day, but still need proper results — quickly, consistently, and in the right colour. When the asset is valuable, visible, or time-critical, Steyer exists to make sure the paint is not the weak link.
Steyer’s story starts in the early 1990s, when Geoffrey D. Lamming and Richard L. Lamming founded Auto Panels Western. The business initially supplied automotive body panels and components to the trade.
In 1998, Auto Panels Western (often known as APW) expanded into manufacturing and supplying automotive paint — and the company’s focus increasingly moved towards coatings, colour accuracy, and solving real-world finishing problems.
In 2025, those legacy brands were brought together under one name: Steyer. Steyer is now the single, unified brand that incorporates the experience and expertise built under Auto Panels Western (APW), Relay Supplies, Clostermann, and related legacy lines — giving customers one clear identity, with the same quality and continuity behind it.
What We Do Today
We mix paint properly, to the correct colour, in gloss, satin, or matt finishes — backed by real technical support when needed.
Steyer is trusted by customers who need to repair, touch up, or finish high-value assets without the overhead of spray booths, specialist equipment, or downtime. From infrastructure and manufacturing to facilities, agriculture, and serious hobby projects, Steyer fills the gap where traditional paint supply doesn’t fit.
We’re not a mass-market aerosol brand, and we’re not trying to replace established bodyshop supply chains.
The same expectations, applied without exception.
What matters is how it performs — and that hasn’t changed.
